Roy Boland
Roy Boland is Professor of Spanish in the University of Sydney and former director of the Institute of Galician Studies of Australia. He married his childhood sweetheart in Santiago de Compostela. He has translated two novels from Galician to English by Alfredo Conde. In 2003 he was knighted by the King of Spain. He exercises daily with his cavoodle, Teddy.

Harriet Cook
Harriet Cook works as a translation project manager in London and translates from Galician to English in her spare time. She wrote a PhD on medieval Galician-Portuguese love poems and is a long-standing member of the Galician Film Forum. A huge part of her heart is in Galicia and she loves to spend time there whenever she can.

Jonathan Dunne
Jonathan Dunne has translated ninety books from the Bulgarian, Catalan, Galician and Spanish languages. He directs the main publisher of Galician literature in English, Small Stations Press. He has written several books on the theology of language, most recently Seven Brief Lessons on Language (2023). Among his hobbies are studying Old English and visiting waterfalls.

Carys Evans-Corrales
Carys Evans-Corrales was Professor of Spanish at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She translated important Galician writers into English, including Spanish National Book Award-winning poet Pilar Pallarés. She wrote an autobiographical account of her experiences living on three continents, Talking Girl: A Memoir, which was published in English by Small Stations Press and in Galician translation by Edicións Laiovento.

Kirsty Hooper
Kirsty Hooper is based in Warwickshire, England. She divides her time between the University of Warwick, where she introduces students to Galician language and culture with the help of Rosalía de Castro and Julio Iglesias, and her work as a professional genealogist and history detective. She adores maps and plays the cornet, relentlessly.

Kathleen March
Kathleen Nora March, Professor Emerita of Spanish, University of Maine, finds translation a way of expressing her love for Galicia and its language. She is an honorary member of the Real Academia Galega and founder of the International Galician Studies Association. Writers she has translated include Anxo Angueira, Marica Campo, Álvaro Cunqueiro, Miguel Anxo Fernández, and Susana Sanches Arins.

Jacob Rogers
Jacob Rogers translates prose and poetry from Galician and Spanish. His full-length translations include work by Carlos Casares, Berta Dávila, Manuel Rivas, Xavier Queipo, and Brais Lamela, and he has helped coordinate features on Galician literature for various magazines. Based in New York City, he also works occasionally as a bookseller.

John Rutherford
John Rutherford is Emeritus Fellow of The Queen’s College, Oxford. He is the translator of Don Quixote, La Regenta and other works in Spanish and Galician. His books include a fictional account of the Camino de Santiago, As frechas de ouro, written in Galician, and a study of humour in Spanish culture, The Power of the Smile.

Lindsay Semel
Lindsay Semel is an emerging translator from the Galician with short fiction and book reviews published in Trafika Europe, Kirkus, The Women’s Review of Books, and Asymptote. She was awarded the 2024 Residencia Xacobeo to support her translation of X. L. Méndez Ferrín’s No ventre do silencio (In the Bowels of Silence). She loves books that challenge expectations and growing her own food.
